What is the APTE?
The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) is a nonprofit association whose main objective is to collaborate, through empowerment and dissemination of scientific and technological parks, renewal and diversification of productive activity, technological progress and economic development.
It is located in the headquarters of the Málaga TechPark and was created in 1989 by the managers of the first 6 parks that were created in Spain. APTE is an associate member of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP).
It currently has 56 members scattered throughout the Spanish geography. 51 of them are Full members, 1 is an Affiliate park which is in the process of development and 4 members are Collaborators.
20 of these parks are sponsored by universities and more than 40 Spanish universities collaborate with them. In 2023 these parks located 5,908 entities that billed 28,917 million euros. These companies provide employment to over 161,435 people, of which 38,656 are engaged in R&D.
