TECNÓPOLE RENEWS ITS COLLABORATION WITH THE AGROBIOTECH ACCELERATOR AT THE OPENING OF THE SECOND CALL
01/05/2017- Technology Park of Galicia - Tecnópole.-
Tecnópole will once again be a reference collaborator of the Agrobiotech program, the company accelerator aimed at boosting the take-off of innovative Galician SMEs in the biotechnology, agri-food and biomass sectors in the growth phase.
The initiative of the Ministry of Economy, Employment and Industry, which is part of the Estrategy of Intelligent Specialization of Galicia (RIS3), is aimed at innovative and / or technology based SMEs. In addition, it will be required that the companies, already constituted, have billing in the year 2016, while it will be valued the increase of the volume of business in the last three years.
What's New?
This company accelerator this year includes novelties specially designed to increase the individualization of services and focuses on two large groups of actions.
Firstly, a customized acceleration itinerary for the selected companies, up to a maximum of 10, will be able to benefit from the services included in an individualized and tailor-made work program designed by specialist tutors and aimed at meeting four objectives: Invoicing and innovation of companies; Of its innovative products in the market; Of sales abroad and internationalization; And the collection of external financing.
Agrobiotech, secondly, includes cross-cutting actions in which the companies benefiting from the first edition of the initiative, such as the II Agrobiotech Innovation Meeting, which is oriented to professionals and relevant agents, and which will take place in the Tecnolóxico Park of Galicia, can take part. As a novelty in this edition, the active participation of the clusters, technology centers and referent companies will be sought. Last year, 330 participants from Spain, France and Portugal took part in this congress, with 56 expert speakers, 28 exhibitors of innovative products and services and more than 130 one-to-one meetings.
Also included is the continuity of Lonxa de Inversores Bio, in which SMEs can be trained and tutored to improve their business plan, and an evaluation of the results of the 11 companies that took part in the first edition of this program.
The first edition
The evaluation of the companies that participated was high with respect to their results: 100% recommend the program; 82% of SMEs plan to generate employment; And 73% report improvements in management and opening of new lines of business. In addition, it should be noted that the innovations included in this year's edition are the result of an evaluation made by the Xunta of the actions carried out both by the companies and by the collaborating entities (Tecnópole, Cetal, Clusaga, Asebio and Bioga).
In short, this program is aimed at increasing the innovative potential of Galician SMEs, promoting the development of new innovative products, establishing relationships with new partners and facilitating the transfer of information between companies. The aim is to promote the consolidation of companies and their sustainable growth.
Agrobiotech is part of the Galician Network of Accelerators, through which, in the last four years, 500 projects involving the mobilization of 14 million euros were developed.
The three emerging sectors in which Agrobiotech is focused are being promoted by the Xunta with different initiatives: biotechnology, through the Strategy to Promote Biotechnology, in which the Xunta has invested about 20 million in less than a year , Involving a total mobilization of almost 40 million; The biomass, through the Comprehensive Strategy for Boosting Biomass, which aims to save 70 million a year in the purchase of fossil fuels and create 1,000 new jobs; And agri-food, through a new pioneer program in Galicia, endowed with 90 million, which will boost employment of 10,000 under 30 in this sector and industry 4.0.
