In the heart of the industrial city of Asturias, at the foot of one of the most important ports in northern Spain, with a modern network of airport and railway infrastructures, and in the vicinity of the Oscar Niemeyer International Centre, is the Avilés Isla de la Innovación Science and Technology Park. An innovative ecosystem formed around the Manzana del Acero, with the Steel Technology Centre and the ArcelorMittal Global R&D Centre. These have been joined by the research centres of WINDAR Technology and Innovation, ASTURMADI RENEERGY, IDESA TECHNOLOGY, TAM GROUP and SATEC Hub. 

Avilés Isla de la Innovación takes advantage of its research potential, the international projects in new materials and the competitive advantages of its location, with a port, railway and motorway in its vicinity, and an international airport 10 minutes away.

Infraestructures and Spaces

'La Isla de la Innovación', with 100,000 m2, sailing the Port of Avilés, at the bow of which is the Oscar Niemeyer International Centre.

  • La Curtidora, a business incubator, with 6,000 m2 at the disposal of new business initiatives, in its Business Centre, its Coworking and its Technological Laboratory.
